Graduate Lawyer (Litigation)

Astris Law is seeking a motivated Graduate Litigation Lawyer to join our dispute resolution and litigation practice. Although based in Brisbane, our work extends to representing and advising clients in courts and tribunals across Australia. In this role, you will engage with a broad range of civil disputes and develop strong advocacy and strategic litigation skills. The position offers a dynamic environment where you can refine your legal expertise and grow your professional profile.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in managing a diverse civil litigation workload, including contract disputes, property matters, and professional negligence claims.
Prepare pleadings, affidavits, submissions, and other court documents with precision and clarity.
Attend court and tribunal hearings as required, including mentions and directions hearings, and appear on routine applications under supervision.
Conduct thorough legal research and provide clear, concise advice to supervising solicitors and clients.
Maintain effective communication with clients, counsel, and relevant stakeholders to ensure efficient matter progression and best possible outcomes.
Uphold professional and ethical obligations, including maintaining confidentiality and adhering to the highest standards of client care.

Selection Criteria
Admission as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and eligibility to hold a current practising certificate.
0-1 year post-admission experience, with demonstrated aptitude in drafting legal documents and managing files.
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, supported by close attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling the delivery of clear, practical advice to clients and colleagues.
Well-developed organisational and time-management skills, with the capacity to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset, showing initiative and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
